Kindy Survey - early childhood education

So first step, kami survey kindy yang ada berdekatan rumah seperti Genius Aulad, CIC, Brainy Bunch Islamic Montessori (BBIM), Little Caliphs. Tapi terpaksa eliminate Genius Aulad sebab untuk 4-6 years old, and CIC untuk kanak-kanak bermula 3 tahun tapi dah potty training. Kami doubt Amir dah boleh independent without diaper by early next year.

So, two options left - BBIM and Little Caliphs.

Last Monday, dah pergi tengok BBIM cawangan Bandar Tun Hussein Onn. Tempatnya okay, cikgu friendly and seronok tengok kids makan sama-sama, main sama-sama. Early this morning, ada study sikit pasal these two kindy from their websites.

Founder
In January 2008, Mohd Fadzil Hashim bravely embarked on the New Year by purchasing their first kindergarten in Kajang. With a dream of an ideal world held very close to their hearts and supported by the strong desire to give back to the community, their first kindergarten was developed with so much thought and such care to become their children’s and their children’s friends’ dream school, and then later to act as the pilot for the BBIM franchise.
In 2003, The Little Caliphs Program was founded by Hajjah Sabariah Faridah Jamaluddin and her husband, Haji Roslan bin Nordin. The first is the academic author, whilst the later is the business author of the program.
Overview
Discovered in Italy by Dr. Maria Montessori over a hundred years ago, the Montessori “method” is an exceptional system which introduces unique ideas to children utilising materials, teaching them new concepts in an independent yet structured environment; establishing learning situations where peer interaction plays a crucial role in conveying and reinforcing the concepts being taught; and accomplishing all of this in a way that is, to the children, incredibly FUN!
The Little Caliphs Program (TLCP) is an Islamic-English-Creative pre-school program that helps pre-school children to realize their best spiritual, cognitive, socio-emotional and physical potential.

My review:

Background founders bagi kedua-dua kindy ni memang impressive. Idea yang diorang cuba ketengahkan berkenaan early childhood education, Islamic and English combination pun sangat bagus. Bila baca pasal diorang, kita pulak berangan nak jadi founder kindy kan...

In my opinion, approach yang digunakan BBIM iaitu Montessori sangat convincing berbanding Little Caliph. In fact, bila go through both websites, lebih banyak content and info di website BBIM berbanding Little Caliph. Especially BBIM's website talks in details pasal program yang diorang offer - playhouse and others.

Masa pergi BBIM haritu, memang dah certain akan masukkan Amir kat sana. Tapi bila tahu fee Little Caliph, half from monthly fee di BBIM, ada second thought jugak.

Masih difikir-fikirkan lagi :)

Brainy bunch kat area putrajaya mmg sangat2 teruk.... kat tempat lain mungkin ok ... in fact their cikgu selalu berenti ...kejap lagi masuk cikgu baru.... budak2 pun pening... selalu x cukup staff utk handle student yang ramai diorg ambik... they more to business la... little calipdh pulak... satu-satu kelemahan diorg takder daycare macam brainy bunch.

Totally agree with jijo. Bbim i think more on biz, every event yg dorg anjur semuanya berbayar. Started from their spory day, pay rm100, little scientist rm80 etc. x igt dh ape lg g i bayar. Latest for graduation day, even my daughter yg non graduate pun kena byr rm145. Progress pun x byk, so next year plan nk hntr p pra sekolah biasa je.

But setelah terbaca few negative comments on bbim, hati dah jadi berbelah bagi.. wonder ir the problem with bbim ony applies to to bbim putrajaya or its a common thing throughout all bbim branches?

Agak lembab sistem pembelajarannya...

Tapi nak salahkan BBIM x boleh gak, pasal penerapan diorang berbeza dgn sekolah lain.. Montessori.. fun learning.. padahal kat rumah dah banyak fun dah.. huhuhooohoo..

Plus, macam komen di atas.. graduation pun kena bayar.. padahal bukannya dia graduate pun.. sukan kena bayar lebih RM100.. pergh suma pakai duit..

Lagi satu yang saya x suka, cikgu dia x tutup aurat sepenuhnya.. berbanding dgn little caliph.. aurat tu sepatutnya diterapkan sejak dari kecil.

So..tahun ni decide nak hantar ke Little Caliph..dengar banyak komen positive anak hantar kat sini..

Salam,sy baru jer hantar anak this year..hantar preschool..bg saya pasal cikgu selalu bertukar2 tu normal utk tadika..even sekolah pun selalu bertukar cikgu kan.. Memula hantar my daughter kat situ 2-3 hr la dia menangis x nak gi school,tp since last week dah okay,x nangis dah..alhamdulillah,lega skit hati..pasal sume kena bayar tu,rasnya nothing comes free kan..tentang perkembangan anak2 plak,BBIM dah bgtau dlm fine print borang registration yg development between children is different, ada yg cepat ada yg slow..bergantung kepada kanak2..kat sekolah pun mcm tu juga, sbb tu kementerian asingkan ikut kelas..bg sy kita as parents kena help development anak2 kita sendiri juga,x leh lepas 100% kat sekolah..10-15 min pun dah cukup..ini pandangan sya la..

Harap membantu...

nak share pengalaman bkenaan staf BBIM

Saya ke sana utk visit the place,
tengok2 anak2..masa tu bawak anak sekali umur 1.6yo.
Mula2 ke sana,
sy jumpa dgn staf, bernama Umi xsilap saya,
orang nya ok,ramah bila sy ajukan soalan mengenai kelas, aktiviti, jadual harian.
Dan kelihatan dua lg staf, seorang staf muda, manis, ramah,sy nampak dari gayanya dia memang suka kan budak.
very soft spoken,
budak2 pon suka dgn dia.
Dan satu lg,staf berbadan agak plummy,
sy tengok dia tgolek dlm bilik tempat tido depan kipas sambil menekan2 handphone,..

Staf yg tgolek sy lihat haritu yg buka pintu,
Tiada warm greeting(sy tak minta pon suh buat coffee ke ape)
sy masih diluar pintu, tiada salam, dia tanya,
ni hari first day kan..
sy jawab..a'ah..
then dia tengok sy,sy tgu dia,nk jemput masuk ke...

ALIAAA!!
SIT DOWN!!
SHARE TOYS WITH YOUR FRIENDS!!!!
Tiada konsep approach dgn anak2,dia sekadar beri arahan.

better keje jadi warden penjara/sekolah henrey gurney.

Tapi saya puji staff lain, dan konsep pembelajaran disana.
Anak sy happy.

p/s : berbeza dgn apa yg sy lihat di uk,
cikgu Early Years, cara mereka approach kanak2 sgt berbeza,
